Interested in providing sponsorship support for our annual frank (scholar), the only academic conference for public interest communications? As an interdisciplinary gathering, frank (scholar) brings together scholars producing theoretically driven or empirical social scientific research that can create lasting, positive social change.
Public interest communication is the development and implementation of science-based, planned strategic communication campaigns with the main goal of achieving significant change and sustained positive behavioral change on a public interest issue that transcends the particular interests of any single organization. The field borrows elements from its sister fields of public relations, advertising, journalism and marketing, but is informed by sociology, psychology, political science and neuroscience.
The support of your foundation can make a difference to frank (scholar) 2018 through any of the following opportunities:
- Our annual research prize is now in its fourth year and is currently seeking a sponsor for naming rights to the prize. The prize celebrates peer-reviewed research that informs the growing discipline. For an annual support of $20,000, the prize would be named the “XXX Foundation Research Prize in Public Interest Communications.” This money would be used to award a $10,000 monetary prize to the winning paper, two $1,500 monetary prizes to two runner-ups. Historically, researchers winning this prize are required to travel to frank scholar to present and discuss their work to practitioners and other scholars. The remaining $7,000 would support the travel expenses related to bringing these prize winners to Gainesville, Florida, each year.
- As the only conference dedicated to research in public interest communications, the annual frank (scholar) conference provides a unique opportunity for national and international scholars to meet and share their work. For a $12,000 sponsorship, your foundation would provide monies to sponsor travel expenses for the five conference Chairs at the 2018 conference.
- Another 2018 conference goal is to award researchers attending the conference monetary prizes for top papers. For a sponsorship of $5,000, your foundation could help us give these researchers the recognition they deserve.
- We seek to provide a travel stipend of $500 for 20 national and internationals scholars to assist their ability to attend the conference. A sponsorship of $10,000 will help offset the costs for our 2018 scholars. As conference organizers, we aim to keep registration fees affordable for academics.
