One of the biggest hurdles to overcome when writing one’s story is knowing where to start. For this reason, it is helpful to start with parameters. So we challenge you to write your story within this parameter: one sentence. What is your story in one sentence? Take some time and think about this.
You may be saying to yourself “one sentence? I’ve had way too many life experiences for one sentence.” Certainly you can’t share every detail about your life in one sentence, but limiting yourself to one sentence helps you identify the essence. This if your story at its most raw. This is who you are.
So write your story in a sentence. We want to know what your story is! Leave a comment below or tweet it at us.
Brandon and Jaron literally wrote the book on using self narratives to drive self discovery, community and social change. They gave the frank community a free chapter. Hooray!
